Dance For The Climate goes around the world. Next stop: Copenhagen

Following the successful launch of the 'Dance For The Climate' clip and 15 000-strong demonstration in Brussels on december 5th, Nic Balthazar is going to Copenhagen to present his "Dance For The Climate" in collaboration with the Climate Coalition. Since its lounge one month ago the clip has generated international interest from many organizations and media, in Europe and beyond. The clip was translated into 20 languages, and was on television in Mexico, Brazil, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Denmark, Romania, Croatia, Cyprus, Slovenia, ...

Saving the planet to a U2 tune!

On August 29th, well over 10.000 people gathered on the beach in Ostend, Belgium, to feature in highly energetic and positive film clip and mobilise people ahead of the UN Summit in Copenhagen. The well-known Irish group U2 waived the rights to the song “Magnificent” for the occasion!

More than 11,000 people gathered last on 29 August on the beach at Ostend to take part in the filming of a video clip by Flemish TV personality Nic Balthazar calling for action on climate change. I found myself lying on the beach that day, imitating a 'sand angel' drawing my wings by cautious waving in the itching sand. Along with me, over 12 000 human bodies executed the same movement, again and again, under the guarding eyes of several giant cameras. “We are doing this for the climate,” I mumbled to my boyfriend who was lying half a meter away from me, in the same uncomfortable position, performing his ‘fallen butterfly’ in a fashion that looked more aggravated with every sand grain that entered his shirt. This is the kind of action we, Belgians, take against climate change.
